چکیده
One of the most popular indirect methods for investigating subsurface information is through borehole record. The obtained from a bore log will provide scenario with regard to soil and rock mass profile, stiffness material, weathering grade quality material. It wise obtain as much possible useful it any civil engineering design including its excavatability assessment. On other hand, seismic velocity also commonly used describe furnish actual profile along survey line. Seismic assumed be relevant geophysical method characterize boundary soil-rock. Although field has been widely applied in ground investigation, their applicability assessing excavation performance still debatable, especially when involves thick soil-rock interaction zone tropical region. objective this study investigate surface works. Field studies were carried out ontwo on-going sites namely Nilai Kota Tinggi involving non-bedded -bedded masses, granite. This aims present relationship between refraction boreholes effectiveness purpose. A sets boreholeswere drilled approximately on same path linesto those methods. results are evaluated Standard Penetration Test (SPT), strength index, core recovery (CR) Rock Quality Designation (RQD) information. Upon obtaining that information, trial using different size excavator machines determine productivity rate. provides materials by various type excavating machines, based investigation tools, which method.

Assessment of Tunnel Excavation on Surface Settlement
The expansion of underground structures is important in urban areas with high population density. In most large cities in the world, urban development is spreading along the structures. These structures are generally located at shallow depth; therefore study of shallow tunnels in urban areas is critical for development. During the excavation of tunnels in urban areas, creating the asymmetric se...
متن کاملThe Value of Borehole -to-surface Information in Near-surface Crosswell Seismic Tomography
Detailed information about the spatial distribution of subsurface properties is important in many fields. One method that can image the seismic velocity structure of the shallow subsurface is crosswell seismic tomography. By including rays traveling from the boreholes to the surface, the angular coverage of crosswell tomograms can be significantly improved. We investigated the effects of these ...
متن کاملOptimized passive seismic survey design with simultaneous borehole and surface measurements
This project attempts to develop a new integrated framework for optimized multi array passive seismic monitoring programs based on specific requirements set forth at the initiation of the project. We have defined a new framework based on existing microseismic array optimization workflows and deployed this framework into a working implementation within Matlab environment for potential use. While...
متن کاملpatterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment
although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...
15 صفحه اولCased Borehole Effect on Downhole Seismic Measurements
Approximate and exact formulations are presented for the interaction of an incident wave with a cased borehole. In the approximate method, the borehole coupling theory is used to compute pressure in the fluid at a low frequency. The results are simple and explicit. They are useful in the study of cased borehole coupling and as well as borehole radiation. In the exact method, elastic potentials ...
